Youngstown to hold two ARP listening sessions

YOUNGSTOWN — The city will have two listening sessions for residents to provide input on how Youngstown will spend $82,775,370 from the federal American Rescue Plan.

Councilman Mike Ray, D-4th Ward, will have a meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 10 at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church’s pavilion, 39 Laird St.

Councilman Jimmy Hughes, D-2nd Ward, will have one at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at the McGuffey Center-Associate Neighborhood Center, 1649 Jacobs Road.

Members of the city administration and planning team will gather feedback and listen to priorities at the meetings.

Events specifically for senior citizens and young people will be announced later.

The city received half of the money in May with the rest coming in May 2021.

The city has held numerous meetings with various groups as well as with citizens in the five other wards to gain insight into what priorities there are for the money.
