POLAND — A school resource officer for Poland Township was placed on unpaid administrative leave Tuesday.

Steve Kent, who is also an Austintown Township trustee, was placed on leave. Poland Police Chief Brian Goodin said he could not comment further because of the ongoing investigation. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is handling the investigation.

Kent is a school resource officer, but the leave comes from the police department, not the school district.
