Tues. 10:20 a.m.: Luke Bryan stadium show canceled

YOUNGSTOWN – Y-Live 2021, which was supposed to feature country superstar Luke Bryan at Youngstown State University’s Stambaugh Stadium, has been canceled.

Promoter JAC Live announced this morning the show will not happen due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in place for the state of Ohio.

According to JAC Live President Eric Ryan, “Although we had hoped the state-mandated restrictions would be lifted in time to bring our community Y-Live 2021 featuring Luke Bryan, sadly they have not. We sincerely want to thank all the fans, sponsors and partners of Y-Live that make it the single best attended annual event our city has to offer. Currently, without a clear date as to when we can operate without restrictions, we feel our best option is to cancel, but please rest assured, once these restrictions are lifted, Y-Live will be back.”

In the coming days all ticket purchases for this event will be automatically refunded at point of purchase and through Ticketmaster.com. Due to an unprecedented amount of event cancellations, patrons can expect to receive their refunds within 30 days.

Although the event was to be held outside, the need to keep patrons socially distant under the ongoing state mandated restrictions would still limit the size of the event.

“There is a tremendous amount of planning that goes into this event” said Ken Bigley, vice president of JAC Live. “We are thankful to Luke Bryan and his team, YSU and all of our vendors that have worked with us though this difficult year. Support for this year’s event has been overwhelming from the day tickets went on sale all the way up until now and because of that we look forward to rescheduling ASAP!”

Bryan, who also is a judge on ABC’s “American Idol,” recently was diagnosed with COVID-19 and missed the first live show of the season. He returned to the judge’s panel on Sunday.
