Mon. 10:38 a.m.: Identity of victim in fatal Struthers crash released
STRUTHERS — The woman killed in fatal car crash Jan. 17 has been identified as Darlene Evans, 60, of Youngstown.
Evans was pronounced dead after her Pontiac Grand Am struck a house on Poland Avenue near the Struthers library. Her name was not released publicly until this morning.
According to a crash report released this morning, Evans was traveling north on Poland avenue when she lost control around a curve. Her car slid sideways, striking the first house and then a berm, which caused her to be thrown from the car. The car then hit another house before coming to a stop, at which point was over Evans, the report states.
No one in either home was injured.
An investigation is ongoing, police Chief Tim Roddy this morning.
