DeWine mandates face masks for students in schools
Children returning to school will be required, with some exceptions, to wear face masks, Gov. Mike DeWine said today.
“Frankly, this gives us the best shot to have children in school,” he said.
There are exceptions such as those who are unable to remove face masks without assistance, those with severe anxiety, those with autism and those with a facial deformity that makes wearing a mask a health hazard.
DeWine had previously required those over the age of 10 to wear masks, with exceptions.
This new order will go into effect shortly, he said.
