Ohio’s 2 p.m. update: 2nd Trumbull County death to COVID-19

COLUMBUS — COVID-19 deaths in the state have increased to 25, including the second death in Trumbull County, the Ohio Department of Health reported today in its 2 p.m. daily update.

That’s up from 19 deaths statewide on Friday and 15 Thursday.

The reports do not give the identities or the towns of the people who have died from COVID-19.

There are two deaths each in Mahoning and Trumbull counties and one in Columbiana. On Thursday, it was one in each county, with Mahoning seeing its second death in the Friday report.

The other deaths are four each in Summit and Miami counties, three in Cuyahoga, two in Franklin, Lucas and Stark counties, and one each in Lake, Erie and Gallia counties.

There 1,406 confirmed cases in the state today, up from 1,137 on Friday and 867 on Thursday.

There are 80 confirmed case in Mahoning County, 27 in Trumbull and 9 in Columbiana, up from 68, 17 and 7 respectively the day before.

Statewide, there have been 344 hospitalizations, with 123 of them in intensive care units, according to today’s update from the Ohio Department of Health.

That’s up from 276 hospitalized Friday, with 107 in ICU; and 223 hospitalized on Thursday with 107 intensive care cases.
