Akron woman pleads innocent in Youngstown murder case

Courtney Hall

YOUNGSTOWN — Courtney Hall, 30, of Akron pleaded not guilty today in Youngstown Municipal Court to two counts of complicity to aggravated murder in the Feb. 29 shooting deaths of Sierra Morris, 25 and her father, Leroy Morris, 58, in their West Judson Avenue home.

Hall was arrested on a warrant Tuesday in Akron and placed in the Mahoning County Adult Justice Center.

Kathy Thompson, deputy Youngstown law director, told Judge Renee DiSalvo the reason Thompson was asking for a $1 million bond for Hall is that Hall drove co-defendant John W. Bruner III, 30, to the Morris home the day of the shootings and drove Bruner away afterward.

DiSalvo approved the $1 million bond.
