COVID-19 rates jump 20.9% in 1 week

After six straight weeks of declines, Ohio had its second consecutive week of increases in the number of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents. The 496.3 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents for the period between Nov. 4 and Wednesday is up from 410.5 cases per 100,000 last week, according to Ohio Department of Health data provided Thursday. Infections increase at nursing homes

A Mahoning County nursing home had three staff cases of COVID-19 and one patient case this week, according to Ohio Department of Health data that appears to have been updated. The four cases are at Greenbrier Center nursing home in Boardman. No facility on the list had more than four cases this week. A message left with the facility Thursday asking for verification of the number of cases was not returned. A Warren facility, meanwhile, has 16 cases, according to state data.
