Auditor seeks equipment for Trumbull IT

By Raymond L. Smith 1 min read

WARREN -- Trumbull County Auditor Martha Yoder is asking county commissioners to provide an estimated $125,000 to replace equipment needed by the county's Information Technology department.

She is seeking an uninterruptible power supply battery backup for the IT department's serving room.

"It is nearing the end of life," Yoder told the commissioners. "It will not be serviced by the provider after the end of this year."

Yoder noted the UPS protects hardware from damage resulting from power outages.

She noted the cost of replacing the UPS will be approximately $80,300. IT obtained a quote of $62,500 for the equipment and another $17,000 for installation.

She also is seeking to replace two of three routers for the county that are more than 12 years old. One of the routers will be used immediately after purchase and the second router will be its backup.

Each of the routers will be able to handle two gigabytes of data that Trumbull County currently uses. The total cost will be about $45,000.

"We don't have a current quote because the amount changes every 14 days," Yoder said.
