SMARTS HOSTS KICK OFF: Students Motivated by the Arts (SMARTS) will host its annual Fall Kick Off from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at SMARTS, Ohio One, 25 E Boardman St., Youngstown.
The interactive event is designed for children ages 18 months through 12th grade and their families, offering a unique opportunity to learn about SMARTS' free public classes while participating in creative, hands-on arts activities. The event is free and open to the public.

LONG-TERM PLANNING: The City of Youngstown's long-term control plan and related sewer and infrastructure improvements meeting will be at 5 p.m. today at the community room at the Covellii Centre, 229 E. Front St. Residents, businesses, property owners, and interested community members are invited to hear an overview of the plan which includes current and upcoming improvements to reduce sewer overflows, increase treatment capacity and support long-term water quality goals. The presentation will include updates on the Mill Creek sewer project.
