UNION CEMETERY STORY: The Girard Free Library will have a program history of the Girard-Liberty Union Cemetery at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The program is part of the America250 celebration. Registration is required for the program. Discover the rich early history of Trumbull County through the stories of the Revolutionary War veterans laid to rest at the Girard-Liberty Union Cemetery, one of the region's oldest burial grounds established in 1813. The talk will be led by Trumbull County Historical Society Archivist Kate Pfouts, who will explore the lives of these early patriots, the significance of their service and the cemetery's role as a resting place for some of the area's earliest settlers.
MODEL CLUB TO MEET: The Mahoning County Model Club monthly meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Struthers Field, located across from 5540 Ariel Smith Road, Struthers. Come early to fly. In case of rain, the club will meet at Bellaria Pizza in Boardman, The annual fun fly will take place Sept. 19 at Shaker Woods Field. The public is invited.
