TREASURE AND TRUNK SALE: The Poland Lions Club is conducting its 12th annual "Treasures of the Trunk" sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Prince of Peace Church on Center Road. CEMETERY TOUR: A walking cemetery tour is scheduled noon Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Youngstown, led by historian Steffon Jones. It will focus on the lives of local police officers and firefighters. This event aims to honor their contributions to the community through storytelling and historical insights.
The event is organized by the Oak Hill Cemetery Research Team. Attendees will learn about the contributions and stories of these community figures
The Oak Hill Cemetery Research Team needs volunteers to help collect data for local Youngstown area cemeteries Using records from the library, they've pieced together stories of people buried at the local cemetery. Jones has spent three decades as the Oak Hill Cemetery historian. Plans are being made to continue efforts in sharing stories of those who dedicated their lives to Youngstown.
