CARS IN THE PARKS: The annual summer Cars in the Park will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Boardman Park. The event, which is hosted by the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club, will take place rain or shine. The event will also include a flea market.
CENTER CLOSES EARLY: The D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center and Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park will be closed to the public beginning at 2 p.m. today for the annual Summer Garden Party fundraiser. The proceeds from this event support Fellows Riverside Gardens and is hosted by the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens. The Davis Center and Gardens will reopen to the public on Saturday.
TENT REVIVAL: Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St., North Lima, will have a tent revival from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday. There will be prayer, anointing and display tables. The event will include food trucks. One Voice Rising will begin playing at 5 p.m.
HISTORICAL SOCIETY LECTURE: The Springfield Township Historical Society Museum, 14188 Youngstown Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg, will host the Afternoon at the Museum speaker series at 2 p.m. Sunday with a program by Gary Williams titled "Revolutionary." The program is part of the series marking America's 250th birthday. The museum will open at 1:30 p.m.
STORIES OF IMMGRANTS: The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will present "Stories of Immigrants of the Mahoning Valley" at 5 p.m. Monday at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., Youngstown. The series celebrates the rich diversity of cultures within the Mahoning Valley. African American culture will be the topic on Monday. The cost to attend is $35 for members and $40 for nonmembers, Speaker is Sarah Brown Clark. There will be a selection of music related to African American heritage.
