Attorney named woman of the year

Attorney Linette M. Stratford, center, magistrate with the Mahoning County Juvenile Court and former chief assistant of the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office, will be honored as Woman of the Year at a special event during National Business Women’s Week, sponsored by the Youngstown Business and Professional Women. The event will be Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, at The Lake Club, 1140 Paulin Road, Poland.

This distinguished honor recognizes Attorney Stratford’s outstanding leadership, commitment to public service and unwavering dedication to advancing women and families in the community. Attorney Stratford has built a career rooted in advocacy, fairness and service to others.

Beyond the courtroom, Stratford has distinguished herself as a mentor and advocate for women in the legal profession and beyond.

During her 31 years with the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office, she was known for taking an active role in mentoring young attorneys, interns and staff, thereby helping to guide the next generation of legal professionals.

Throughout her career, she has also been a strong proponent of equitable workplace practices, including advancing equal pay initiatives and supporting the professional growth of women in law and public service.

Attorney Stratford is also a published author, co-writing three books, “Producer Consciousness,” “Producer Consciousness: A New Mindset for Education” and “Producer Consciousness for Kids,” with Dr. Homer Warren, reflecting her commitment to personal growth, leadership and expanding perspectives within the community.

Proceeds from the event fund scholarships providing assistance to deserving women pursuing higher education in the greater Youngstown area.
