WRITING WORKSHOPS: This summer, Lit Youngstown is offering workshops for writers of all ages and experience levels. These workshops will begin in June and run through August. Seating is limited and registration is required. For a list of programs and to register, visit lityoungstown.org.
AFTERNOON AT THE MUSEUM: The Springfield Township Historical Society Museum will present Paul Rohrbaugh as part of its “Afternoon at the Museum” speaker series at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the museum, 14188 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg.
Rohrbaugh will present the “Life and Times of President McKinley,” the 25th U.S. president who was born in Niles, grew up in Poland and made his home in Canton. The program is free. For more information, visit the museum’s Facebook page or email springfieldtwphistory@gmail.com.
KINSHIP SUMMER CAMP: Registration is open for Easterseals of Northeast Ohio Kinship Summer Camp, a free summer program designed specifically for children being raised by relative caregivers.
The camp will run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 8-July 30. It provides a safe, supportive and fun environment where children can learn, play and build friendships. Free transportation is available for children living in Youngstown. Campers will receive a hot lunch and snacks each day.
Kinship Summer Camp is designed for children who are being raised by an adult relative age 55 or older who serves as their primary caregiver. Eligible campers must be between the ages of 5 and 10 and fully potty-trained.

ESC CAMP: The Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio is inviting students entering grades 3-5 to ignite their curiosity, build confidence and invent the future at Camp Invention: Spark, a STEM enrichment program.
Taking place 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 13-17 at 7320 N. Palmyra Road, Canfield, the program offers a hands-on learning experience where creativity and innovation come together. Led by qualified local educators, campers will explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics through activities that encourage problem-solving, teamwork and imaginative thinking.
The cost is $110 per camper. Thanks to the Aimee and Lulu Trust and the Mahoning Valley Foundation, families residing in Mahoning County may qualify for a reduced registration rate.

OSTOMY SUPPORT: The Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group will meet 6 to 7 p.m. June 10 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, 8401 Market St., Boardman (Woodland Room). Parking is free, and refreshments will be served.

HINES HONORED: Konner Hines of Youngstown, was honored at the 24th Annual Dr. Obie Bender Multicultural Awards at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring semester. The awards honor and affirm the contributions of underrepresented members of the Baldwin Wallace community as well as those who contribute to the overall spirit of inclusion.
Hines, a graduate of Boardman High School and majoring in marketing and human resource management, received The Outstanding Jacket LINK Mentor of the Year. The award is designed to recognize an outstanding campus leader who goes above and beyond to assist first-year Jacket LINK students through educational, social and personal support.
