2026 Business Awards Program applications are being accepted
The Board of Directors for the Meszaros Charitable Fund, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that was founded in memory of the late Gary “Moe” Meszaros (cofounder of Quaker Steak & Lube & philanthropist) has opened its 2026 Business Awards Program application window.
The awards are open to businesses in Mercer and Lawrence counties in western Pennsylvania as well as Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
The program is in its second year and recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in our region.
The board also is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary fundraiser, the Meszaros Charitable FUNd Feast, on Aug. 13 at the Original Quaker Steak & Lube in downtown Sharon.
This year’s award recipients will be recognized on stage and the top award this year is $10,000.

The Meszaros Charitable Fund, established in August 2015, carries on the legacy of Gary J. “Moe” Meszaros.
The fund’s goal is to honor Gary’s vision by implementing lifestyle improvements in our region, strengthening individuals and families, conducting community projects and empowering our citizens to be successful. Gary always brightened the community through employment, business development and by making a difference in people’s lives.
In continuing Gary’s ideals of creating community, maintaining old and fostering new friendships, and — most of all — having fun, the Meszaros Charitable Fund has been able to award grants and gifts totaling more than $156,000 over the course of 10 years.
