COMMUNITY NEWS: Caregivers expo set Friday at racino

NATIONAL WELLNESS MONTH: In celebration of August as National Wellness Month, a Seniors and Caregivers Expo will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Youngstown. The event will provide information and support, connecting older adults and their families with a variety of resources. The expo will feature vendors specializing in senior care, health care, financial planning, housing and other essential services. There will be giveaways and door prizes.

TRUNK TO TREASURE: The St. Christine Youth Celebrate Team is having its 9th annual Trunk to Treasure Sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the church parking lot, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown. SUPPORT GROUP TO MEET: The Youngstown Area Scleroderma Support Group will meet in person at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road. The meeting is open to the public and focuses on issues of people affected by scleroderma. AUTISM MINI GRANT: The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley is announcing its call for applications for its 9th Annual Autism Teacher Mini Grant Program. Awards will be given in three denominations, $500, $250 and $100 to applicants from public and private schools in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana counties. Online applications are being accepted at their ASMV website through Friday. The ASMV Board, a group consisting of community members and parents, will review the applications and select the winners in mid-August. For additional information on ASMV, visit www.autismmv.org.
