Community news: Beekeepers plan potluck

BEEKEEPERS MEET: The Columbiana & Mahoning County Beekeepers Association will meet for a potluck lunch at 1 p.m., followed by a meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Austintown Senior Center, 112 Westchester Drive, Austintown. Peggy Garnes, from the Ohio State Beekeepers Association, will discuss Fair Judging: the requirements for honey comb and products for fair entries. A Q&A will follow. Anyone interested in beekeeping is welcome to attend.

POKER RUN: The 13th annual Mike Hull Memorial poker run for autism awareness will be Sunday at the Dash Inn on Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown. All proceeds from the event go to help families with autistic children in the tricounty area. Sign in is at 10 a.m., with the first bike out at noon following the blessing of the bikes. Last bike in at 5 p.m. Cost is $20 per bike. For information, call Melissa at 330-770-6978.

STEPPING STONES: Stepping Stones for a Better Tomorrow will host the 11th annual all-day camp for children ages 8 to 18, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 23 to 27, at Zion Lutheran Church, Cornersburg. Family Fun Day is at noon June 28. Topics of the camp include peer pressure, social media, suicide, bullying, phone usage and screen time, and mindfulness. TOWN HALL SET: Youngstown 6th Ward Councilwoman Anita Davis will hold a town hall meeting 5 p.m. Monday in the community room at the Newport Library, 3730 Market St., Youngstown. Discussion will be on what things are happening in the city. Refreshments will be served.

ARTIFACT AND RELIC SHOW: Pat’s Relic, Youngstown Archaeology and the Mahoning Valley Archeological Society will host an Indian Artifact and Relic Show from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Five 4’s Distillery, 417 N. Canal St., Newton Falls.

The show is free and open to the public. Displays featuring artifacts ranging from field walkers, collectors, and enthusiasts will be on hand as well as items for sale.

This event is for all ages to learn and connect with others who show interest in collecting and archaeology.

PLANT POWER: Healthy Community Partnership Mahoning Valley will host a seed donation event 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Pocket Park, corner of McGuffey Road and Berkley Avenue, Youngstown. There will also be a table set up 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 28 at the Glenwood Corridor parking lot, 2649 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown.
