RAILROAD EXHIBIT: The Youngstown Model Railroad Association will host an open house noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the club location, 751 N. Four Mile Run Road, Austintown. The club is one of the few in the country to have O scale and HO scale trains. Additions have been made to the displays.

COCOA AND CANVAS: The Paul and Yetta Gluck School of Visual Arts at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, is offering cocoa and canvas 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. GUEST SPEAKER: Girard Free Library will host Doug Fowler, a former Youngstown State University adjunct professor, at 6 p.m. Tuesday who will present “Apollo 8 Earthrise,” which is about the first orbit of the moon on Christmas Eve 1968. HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER: The Kids Crew of the Mahoning Valley will present the Holiday Hopes and Wishes event at 10 a.m. Friday at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman to benefit Akron Children’s Mahoning Valley. Funds raised will benefit the sports medicine department. Tickets are $50 per person or $400 per table of eight. The event will include an auction and 50 / 50 raffle.
