ADOPTION DAY: In support of National Adoption Month, Mahoning County Probate Court Judge Robert N. Rusu Jr. and Mahoning County Children Services are co-hosting the 11th annual Adoption Day Celebration Event at 11 a.m. Friday at the Mahoning County Courthouse, 120 Market St., Youngstown. Event attendees will meet an adoptive family, witness a live adoption finalization hearing as local children join their forever family, and learn more about the many children in Mahoning County “waiting” for a Forever Adoptive Family. The event also features local high school students and other special guest performances and presentations.

ROTARY AUCTION: Hubbard Rotary Club will host its 68th annual Rotary Auction Nov. 7 at Tiffany’s Banquet Center in Brookfield. Doors open at 5 p.m. with bidding beginning at 6 p.m. The event will include a bake sale and basket raffle. The auction will feature 140 new and gently used items.

SIGNUPS FOR THANKSGIVING: Signups are being accepted for Thanksgiving at the Emmanuel Care Center in Girard. Through Nov. 8, families who are registered at the center and wish to receive assistance can call 330-545-4301 to sign up. Gift cards will be given to families instead of boxes of food. Anyone wishing to donate is asked to make monetary donations or donate gift cards to Aldi, Walmart or Giant Eagle. Donations are needed by Nov. 15 and can be mailed to the Emmanuel Care Center, 2 N. State St., Girard. 44420. For questions call the center at 440-545-4301. Families will pick up items from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 26.

SPEAKER SERIES: Springfield Township Historical Society will present its final program of the 2024 speaker series at 2 p.m. Sunday at the society, 14188 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg. The program is free.
