ST. PATRICK FESTIVAL: The 66th annual St. Patrick Festival will take place Thursday to Sunday at the church grounds, 225 N. Main St., Hubbard. Festival hours are 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 5 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 11 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. The festival will include parish-made food, rides, games and a basket auction. There will be a children’s matinee 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Drawing for the raffle is Sunday.
Entertainment is 2nd Avenue Project, 7 to 11 p.m. Thursday; Hern Brothers, 7 to 11 p.m. Friday; Chris Higbee Band, 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday; The Feral Cats 2 to 3:30 p.m. and RDNA Band 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Sunday. For information, call 330-534-1928.
TOWN HALL: Youngstown Councilwoman Anita Davis will host a town hall meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Newport Library community room, 3730 Market St., Youngstown. Guest speakers are Mahoning County Commissioner Dave Ditzler and Mike Durkin, Youngstown Blight Remediation and Code Enforcement superintendent.
UNITY EVENT: Unity in the Community will be 1 to 7 p,m. Saturday at Liberty Park, Park Drive, Girard. The free event will include former pro wrestler Blast from the Tag Team Demolition. The event will include music, giveaways, food, games and prizes.
PUZZLE NIGHT: Girard Free Library will host a family puzzle time at 2 p.m. today. The puzzle pandemonium event will have teams of three to five competing to put puzzles together. Register at 330-545-2508.
MEET AND GREET: Newly hired Liberty Schools Superintendent Brian Knight welcomes township residents and district families to hear his vision for the school district as well as solicit feedback. The event is 5:30 p.m. today at the Trumbull County Public Library on Churchill Road in Liberty Township.
CHANEY 1974: Chaney High School Class of 1974 50th Class Reunion will take place 5 p.m. Aug. 18 at El Cowboy in the Wedgewood Plaza. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. and music provided by Backbeat will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Advance tickets for the reunion are $55 per person and must be purchased before Wednesday.
The weekend will include a meet and greet at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at Penguin City Brewery; Chaney Alumni Charity Golf Outing on Aug. 17 at Mill Creek Park; and the dinner Aug. 18. FOOD COLLECTION: Jewish Family and Community Services is accepting donations of shelf-stable food items for its pantry. The items include peanut butter, soap, protein bars and shakes, dry milk, pasta and pasta sauce, soup, mini boxes of cereal and similar items. Donations can be dropped off at JFCS, 517 Gypsy Lane, during normal business hours.
CULTURAL ALLIANCE: The Mahoning Valley Cultural Alliance will host the Stories of Mahoning Valley Immigrants series celebrating the rich diversity of cultures within the Mahoning Valley at 5 p.m. Aug. 5. The event recognizes those who migrated from Yemen. Speaker is Dr. Rashid Abdu, a native of Yemen and a retired surgeon. The event is set at A La Carte Catering, 329 Lisbon St., Canfield There will be entertainment by Heather Abrams, a professional Middle Eastern belly dancer. Reservations are due by Tuesday. BOOK SIGNING: Author Nancy Christie of Austintown will host a book signing 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble in the Shops at Boardman Park on U.S. Route 224 in Boardman. She will donate a portion of her book sales that day to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
