FRUIT TREE PRUNING: Learn how to prune apple and peach trees with Mahoning County OSU Extension and White House Fruit Farms, at noon (Zoom and in-person available) and 2 p.m. (in-person only), on Saturday at White House Fruit Farms, 9249 Youngstown-Salem Road, Canfield.

Pruning is important to the success of fruit trees, and knowing how to properly prune can aid in the success of future crops. Demonstrations will be done by Eric Barrett, OSU Extension educator, and Dave and David Hull from White House Fruit Farms.

This event will be held rain or shine, so warm dress and rugged shoes or boots are recommended.

Registration for the program is $25 for in-person, and $20 for Zoom, which includes a set of hand pruners for in-person attendees and handouts. To register or learn more, call Mahoning County Extension at 330-533-5538 or visit go.osu.edu/fruittree2021.

COOKIE SALE FOR AUTISM: Covelli Enterprises, the largest franchisee of Panera Bread, is partnering with Potential Development School for Autism during April through the launch of its Pieces of Hope for Autism cookie campaign in honor of Autism Awareness month. Through April 30, proceeds from all Pieces of Hope cookie sales will be donated to the cause. The puzzle piece cookie will be sold in all Covelli-owned and operated Panera Bread cafes.

Potential Development also will benefit during the whole month from the company’s Operation Dough Nation program, which allows customers to drop change into the donation canister at the register.

Cookies can be purchased online at www.panerabread.com or on the Panera app for rapid pickup, curbside, delivery and catering.

Panera Bread is encouraging Pieces of Hope campaign supporters to share photos of their cookies on social media using #everycookiecounts.

PRETTY BOY FLOYD PROGRAM: “The Last Run of Pretty Boy Floyd” and a discussion to follow with video co-producer and East Liverpool Police Department patrolman Kelsey Hedrick, will be online via Zoom 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday.

The program, which is open to the public and free to view, is provided by the PLUS libraries.

Hedrick’s knowledge of the notorious gangster was gathered by doing intensive research throughout the wider East Liverpool area. By using information gleaned from newspapers and transcripts from the coroner’s inquest following Floyd’s death, Hedrick pieced together the final days of Pretty Boy Floyd’s life.

Registration is required for this program. Participants should provide an email address at time of registration, in order to receive the zoom link to enter the presentation.

Please contact any of the following libraries to receive more information: Lepper Library (330-424-3117), Columbiana Public Library (330-482-5509), East Palestine Memorial Public Library (330-426-3778), Salem Public Library (330-332-0042), or Wellsville Carnegie Public Library (330-532-1526).
