YWCA RECEIVES $6,500: The YWCA Mahoning Valley was selected to participate in a limited time giving appeal by the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio over the last week of July. YWCA received more than $6,500 during Giving Week.

Donations were matched by the Community Foundation. YWCA raised $5,135 and received a $1,510 match.

Money raised by YWCA Mahoning Valley will be used for programs and services such as supportive housing, child care, STEAM education, racial justice training and empowerment programming.

PAJAMA COLLECTION FOR FOSTER CARE: Akiva Academy and Jewish Family Services are again partnering to collect new pajamas, sizes infant to adult, for children in foster care in Mahoning County. The pajama drive begins Tuesday and ends Dec. 10.

Drop off boxes will be located at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, and Jewish Family Services, 517 Gypsy Lane.
