NEW MINISTER: Northeast Christian Church, 865 Perkins Jones Road, Warren, welcomed new pastor Cole Sagstetter, who began serving the congregation Aug. 30. Cole and his wife Katie met while leading short-term mission trips on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. They have been serving the Lord together ever since and now do so with their toddler, James. Cole has been serving in ministry since 2012 as a youth minister and has followed God’s calling to continue in ministry at the church.

ELEVATED: The Right Rev. Gerald D. Gammon was elevated to the office of bishop. Consecration took place in Louisville, Ky., on Aug. 23. Gammon, of the Charismatic Old Catholic Church, has served as a priest for over eight years. He also serves as pastor of the First United Church of Christ, 280 E. Market St., Warren.

The Old Catholic Church is not part of the Roman Catholic Church. Though the churches are similar in structure and in beliefs, they differ on some key issues. Clergy can marry in the Old Catholic Church and women are permitted to be ordained.

METAPHYSICS: Unity Spiritual Centre’s ongoing metaphysics classes will be on Tuesdays. The first half will be traditional Sanskrit mantra study and chanting from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. The second half, from 7:30-8:15 p.m., will be meditations from the Heart Math study group, which meets regularly at 9 a.m. Sundays, from the text “Becoming Supernatural.” Respondents are free to join either one or both sessions. WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES: The Office of Pro-Life, Marriage and Family Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown is sponsoring a wedding anniversary celebrations to honor couples who are observing their 25th, 40th and, 50th or over anniversaries in 2020 at 2 p.m. Oct. 18 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.
