Seeing eye: Children’s bicycling event set in Liberty

KIDS SAFETY RODEO: Kiwanis Club of Liberty, in collaboration with Liberty Township, Liberty Police Department and CycWard Bike Club, is hosting a Kids Bicycle Safety Rodeo 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the William S. Guy Middle School, 4115 Shady Road, Liberty.

There will be bike inspections, bike maintenance, a bike-riding course and food, all free. Also, free helmets will be provided, and bikes will be available for riders who do not bring their own bikes and helmets to test the course.

Social distancing guidelines will be in place, and a mask is required. For information, call 330-774-9799.

GUEST SPEAKER: The William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will host a program 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kravitz Deli meeting room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. The program is on the history, development and continuing importance of the 910th Airlift Wing Reserve base in Vienna. Members pay $5 and nonmembers $6. Programs include refreshments.

EVENT POSTPONED: Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Brier Hill Italian Festival originally scheduled for this month has been postponed.
