PASTOR’S ANNIVERSARY: The Revised Church of the Living God, 1520 Sixth St., Warren, will be celebrating Pastor Elnora Edge’s anniversary 7 p.m. today and 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

MUSICAL PERFORMANCE: Following June (Nina and Rick Millers’ Group) will be performing 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Pearson Park, 179 Pearson Park Drive, New Castle, Pa. Bring lawn chairs or blanket to sit on grass.

CHURCHES REOPEN: The Simon Road Church of God, 2750 Simon Road, Boardman, will hold its “Re-Gathering” service Sunday. The doors will open at 10:15 a.m. and the service will begin at 10:45. Social distancing, as well as other recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be practiced. Masks are encouraged but not required. The “live” service will begin at 11 a.m. on the Simon Road Church of God Facebook page and will appear later in the morning on YouTube.

MORNING WORSHIP: The Ellsworth Community Church, 11171 W. Akron Canfield Road, North Jackson, will resume morning worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

PILGRIMAGE CANCELED: In this time of caution and concern with the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Diocese of Youngstown Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in Carey, Ohio, has been canceled. Next year’s pilgrimage will be scheduled in August 2021.

PROTESTANT SERVICES: Protestant Family Services has received COVID-19 Crisis Relief Funds to assist clients who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds are available for utilities, mortgages, rent and life-sustaining medications. Agency guidelines will be adhered to. Due to limited office space and the required social distancing, clients will be serviced by phone, fax and e-mail. Call 330-746-4600 to speak with the caseworker to get registered. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

HOLY SENIOR GROUP: Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the Holy Family Seniors Group will not meet from June through August. The group’s leadership is hoping to be able to resume meeting safely in September.

SERIES CANCELED: Due to the COVID-19 health pandemic, the First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown has canceled all programs for June, July and August.

DRIVE- IN STYLE: Bazetta Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Everett Hull Road, is holding a drive-in service 9:30 a.m. Sundays. Bulletins and a sealed communion cup / wafer will be left on a table near the parking lot entrance. Nonperishable food items are also being collected.

Mount Jackson Presbyterian Church, 129 Mount Air Road, New Castle Pa., is holding worship drive-in style in the parking lot 101 a.m. Sunday.

First Baptist Church, 2640 S. Canal St., Newton Falls, will conduct “Drive-in” church services 11 a.m. Sundays., Individuals will remain in their cars and tune in to 89.3 FM.

FESTIVALS CANCELED: The festival committee at Christ Our Savior Parish in Struthers decided to cancel the COSP Festival at St. Nicholas Church. The next festival will take place in June 2021.The festival is still continuing the big raffle this year, a chance to win $6,000. Early bird drawings will lead up to the big drawing Sunday. The parish asks people to buy or sell tickets and mail them to the parish office with attention to “Festival Ticket Chairman.”

MEN OF PRAISE: The Men of Faith will not be having the First Saturday Breakfast indoors at the Restaurant in the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport for June and July because of social distancing. Plans have been finalized with official approval to go outdoors with an open praise on Courthouse Square, Warren, at 9 a.m. June 27.

The Mahoning Valley is coming together in unity to praise the Lord. Keno Hills, former NFL player on staff at the Warren Family Mission, is sharing his testimony. Pastor Jordan Biel is coming to provide the uplifting praise music on guitar and vocals. John Farmwalt raised Amish will tell his life-saving rescue story. Pastor Everett Whiteside proclaims God’s Kingdom along with the closing prayer.

There will be music along with testimonies and prayer. The last breakfast in March was a blessing with 100 men from about 25 different churches coming together in fellowship. Bring a lawn chair. Visit www.mensrally.org

ISRAEL TRIP: The Church at Warren in Bazetta is planning a “Best of Israel” trip Sept. 8 to 17. The 10-day tour includes visits to Sea of Galilee, Israel, Jerusalem, Holocaust Museum, and Bethlehem. CHURCH TO REOPEN: The Warren First Presbyterian Church, Mahoning Avenue NW, Warren, will reopen for worship 10 a.m. July 5. The session also approved not serving communion at that time. Sunday worship is currently offered through the radio broadcast at 1570 AM.

VBS ONLINE: Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson Road, will be offering a quarantined -friendly vacation Bible school June 22 to 26 virtually on Facebook and the church website.
