‘Girls night out’ event scheduled
WOMEN’S DAY: Celebrate the cultures of women in the Valley and around the world at YWCA Mahoning Valley’s International Women’s Day Event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown. The celebration “girls night out” event showcases the dancing, music, dress, and food of cultures represented in the Mahoning Valley. International Women’s Day seeks to draw attention to issues impacting women and renew the push for parity in all facets of life, from the workplace to the home.
Admission is $20 per person and $10 per student. Register at the Youngstown office, call 330-746-6361, ext. 112 or at ywcamahoningvalley.org.
CLUB MEETING: Seton III Club will meet noon Thursday at A La Cart Restaurant in Canfield. Speaker will be television personality Casey Malone of The Casey Malone Show, presenting “Irish In The Valley.” Joyce Petrunia will present the readings. Hostesses will be Ellen Hyland, chairperson, Margie Rochford and Petrunia.
ST. PATRICK PARADE: The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be in Boardman starting 1 p.m. Sunday. The parade starts on South Market Street near McClurg Road. The parade is famous for its many units featuring several different bands, floats and a variety of Irish units.
SENIORS GROUP TO MEET: The Holy Family Seniors Group will meet 11:30 a.m. March 16 at the Holy Family Parish Hall, 2729 Center Road, Poland. There are no hostesses this month but we will enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day theme with lunch served at noon. The cost of the lunch is $4 per person.
March is the month that annual membership dues are collected. Members are reminded to bring their $10 dues to renew their membership. The Holy Family Seniors group is open to all seniors age 55 and over who live within a comfortable driving distance to the Church. New members are also welcome to join the Seniors group at this time for $10. This social group meets on the third Monday of each month in Holy Family Parish Hall, 2729 Center Road, Poland, for lunch Bingo or cards and socialization. Call Laurie Fox at 330-536-8850.
