Seeing Eye: Winter Botany Walk set in Poland

A WINTER BOTANY WALK: The Friends of Poland Forest is hosting a Winter Botany Walk 10 a.m. Saturday at the College Street entrance to the forest to learn winter identification of plants, trees and shrubs with naturalist Kyle Filicky.

The leisurely walk will take approximately two hours. For more information, call 330-770-4364.

FREE DENTAL FOR KIDS: Dr. Paul Bertolasio is hosting a Give Kids a Smile Day with the ADA 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 21. Free dental care will be provided to children without dental insurance and whose families would not otherwise be able to afford it.

STUDENT ART COMPETITION: Deltas present the annual Student Art Competition, sponsored by Arts and Letters Committee, Feb. 17 to 29 at the Art Outreach Gallery, at the Eastwood Mall in Niles.

First place, second place, third place and honorable mention will be given. The theme for this year is “Generations Of Black History — Past, Present, and / or Future.”

Eligible students must be in ninth to 12th grades. Any medium will be accepted.

BOOK FAIR: Hubbard Public Library will hold a book fair 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 21. The event is part of National Library Lovers Month in February. All proceeds will benefit the library and its programs and activities.

KIDS NIGHT: Jewish Community Center of Youngstown will host a Kid’s Night-In from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Parents can enjoy a night out while their child stays in at JCC. Dinner, games, and crafts will be provided.

Young children will have a movie and dance party, while older children will watch a movie. This event is for ages 3 to 14. The cost is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
