Gala helps kids to graduate

INSPIRING MINDS GALA: The 14th annual Inspiring Minds Gala will be held 4 to 7 p.m. March 21 at the Metroplex Expo Center in Liberty. The fundraising event will bring together students, families, alumni, businesses, supporters and the community to celebrate the organization’s impact in the Mahoning Valley.

The gala is one of the largest fundraisers for the nonprofit. The theme is “The Success Tour,” and it will take guests through the different paths IM students and graduates take to live out their dreams.

Inspiring Minds’ main goal is for students to graduate from high school and to guide them on their success track, whether that’s enrolling in college or trade school, joining the armed forces or entering the work force.

Visit IMgala.org for information.

Inspiring Minds provides after-school and summer enrichment programming to more than 400 students annually in the Mahoning Valley. Since 2006, IM has served more than 4,000 students, expanded services to four states, exposed students to 75 cities in 20 states, toured more than 90 colleges and explored more than 80 companies across the country.

TEA FOR TWO: The GFWC Ohio Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League will host “Tea for Two” to benefit local charities.

The tea will be held 1 p.m. March 7 at Lariccia’s Family Community Center in Boardman Park. The cost is $25 per person. The tea includes food, basket raffle and selection of tea cups.

Gossip maven “Hedda Hopper” will fill in guests on the scoop in Hollywood.
