Red Cross seeks volunteers

RED CROSS OPEN HOUSE: The American Red Cross will hold a disaster volunteer open house 4 p.m. Thursday at the chapter office, 3530 Belmont Ave., Suite 7, Liberty. The Red Cross says it is looking for the next wave of heroes who want to make a difference in the community.

There is an urgent need for disaster action team volunteers to help local victims of home fires and flooding. Disaster volunteers receive free training and are expected to commit to at least four hours each month, according to the Red Cross.

There is no obligation to learn more about becoming a volunteer. Areas in urgent need include Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties. For information or directions, call or email Maggie Lenhart at 330-392-2551 or marg aret.lenhart@redcross.org

REGIMENTAL MILITARY BALL: The Ohio Regimental Committee will hold the 32nd annual Ohio Regimental Military Ball to be held at the Sheraton Suites, Cuyahoga Falls. The ball celebrates the Blue and Gray with cuisine, musicians, Sutlers and historical presenters with Civil War topics.
