Wickliffe event set on Dec. 5

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING: The Wickliffe Circle Christmas Committee is sponsoring its 32nd annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Wickliffe Circle Fire Station, 4102 Mahoning Ave., Austintown.

A Christmas Carol singalong will begin at 6:45 p.m. with the Fitch Brass Band. The lights are turned on and Santa Claus arrives on a fire truck at 7.

Free refreshments will be available. Anyone wanting to help with donations can send them to The Wickliffe Circle Christmas Committee, 1181 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown 44515.

HOLIDAY ITEMS: The Look Nook Gift Shop at Salem Regional Medical Center is offering special discounts on holiday gift items during its “12 Days of Christmas” shopping event, Dec. 2 to 14. Shoppers are invited to visit the Look Nook each day to see what exclusive gift item is featured. The Look Nook is on the ground floor concourse of the Salem Regional Medical Center. For information, contact the gift shop at 330-332-7252.

TREE RAFFLE: Community members can enter to win their favorite holiday trees when Salem Regional Medical Center Auxiliary hosts its annual holiday tree raffle beginning Dec. 5. All of the trees have been decorated by members of the SRMC family and will be displayed in the hospital’s cafeteria, where raffle tickets will be available for $1 each or 6 for $5.

Tickets will be sold Dec. 5 to 9. On Dec. 12, tickets may be purchased in the cafeteria for the last time between 7:30 and 10 a.m.

In addition to cafeteria ticket sales, the public can also purchase tickets in SRMC’s Look Nook Gift Shop during the raffle on weekdays.

Winners will be announced on Dec. 12, and raffle proceeds will be used to assist the auxiliary in enhancing patient care and comfort at SRMC. For information, call SRMC’s Development Office at 330-337-2883.

ROTARY HELPS: Struthers Rotary, along with Nemenz IGA Struthers, Struthers Federal Credit Union along with the generous community of Struthers have help fill the shelves for the Struthers High School Toiletry Pantry. Various other businesses, individuals and organizations also contributed items.
