Veterans’ graves need to be located

CEMETERY TEAM: A portion of the Broadhead Wydell Memorial Team needs your help locating the veterans headstones in the cemeteries in the Youngstown area. The purpose is so there’s a veterans list and all veterans will be honored. The only qualification is you must have a passion for history and veterans. GATHERING PLACE: Lord of the Living Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield, will host a Gathering Place session 11 a.m Monday with a program on the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor Steel Museum. This is a free community outreach social program. For information, call 330-533-6045.

DAY OF PRAYER: Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will observe Unity World Day of Prayer 7 p.m. Wednesday. Thousands of people will join with Silent Unity-an international, trans-denominational, 24/7 prayer ministry — and Unity churches and centers around the world to participate in this 24-hour prayer event. OPEN HOUSE: The Mineral Ridge Historical Society is hosting the Moss Ancestral Home Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. today at 1499 Burnett St., Mineral Ridge.

BOWL MEDITATION: Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will host Crystal Singing Bowl Meditation 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The sessions are conducted by Maria and Calvin Wagner from the Center for Sound Therapy in Boardman. Love offering will be accepted. Call 330-539-0122.

COVENANT CELEBRATION: The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown and the Northeastern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church will host a Lutheran Catholic Covenant celebration “Our Common Witness to the Gospel” 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at St. Michael Parish Family Life Center, 300 N. Broad St., Canfield.

Edward Hahnenberg is the featured presenter. Bishop Abraham Allende and Msgr. Robert Siffrin, Vicar General, Diocese of Youngstown, are offering evening prayer. The day of prayer and study commemorates the signing of the Lutheran-Catholic Covenant in October 2000 by Bishop Thomas Tobin and Bishop Marcus Miller. A free-will offering will be collected for Operation Blessing, an ecumenical food assistance program hosted by Canfield Presbyterian Church.

GUEST SPEAKER: Columbiana First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main St., Columbiana, will have speaker Lynn Royce Taylor 7 p.m. today. Free will offering will be given.

BRAS FOR A CAUSE: The Trumbull Regional Medical Center Pink Ribbon Run / Walk Committee invites the community to participate in a fun event that addresses a serious issue: breast cancer. Participants are invited to decorate a bra in their own unique style with their own theme or slogan that emphasizes Breast Cancer Awareness.

The decorated bras will be on display at Trumbull Regional Medical Center Sept. 23 through Oct. 31 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 28, at the TRMC Pink Ribbon Run / Walk.
