SERVICE RECOGNIZED: Ginny Pasha, a program ambassador with YBI, has announced her retirement after more than 40 years of nonprofit leadership. Pasha joined YBI in 2022.

"In joining YBI, I was given the privilege of working with really smart people and introducing YBI to those who are unaware of the breadth and depth of YBI and our impact," Pasha said.

Pasha's nonprofit career began with Junior Achievement, where the focus was on education.

She then worked at the state level for the Jobs for Ohio's Graduates program, where the

focus expanded into health and human services. She spent 18 years with United Way, serving as president of United Way of Trumbull County until 2022.

"When I left United Way of Trumbull County as president in 2022, I wanted to continue working, but on a part-time basis," Pasha said. "When approached by YBI, it was an opportunity I believed would use my skills and experience and would be purposeful and rewarding--which it has been."

Pasha was recognized by Junior Achievement USA for creatively adapting a JA program to meet the needs of students with multiple disabilities in the Youngstown City Schools, allowing those students to fully participate.

While with United Way of Trumbull County, she created and implemented the Reading Great by 8 Early Learning Initiative, designed to help students meet Ohio's Third Grade Reading Guarantee.

At YBI, Pasha worked with individuals who had a dream or business idea, helping them develop the tools to make it a reality.

QUALITY CARE: St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and East Liverpool City Hospital were recognized as 2 of 102 hospitals across Ohio by the American Heart Association for their commitment to improving care for patients with heart disease and stroke through Get With The Guidelines quality improvement programs.

Nationwide, more than 3,000 hospitals take part in these efforts, helping ensure patients receive care aligned with the most up‑to‑date, research‑based treatment guidelines.

Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 4 causes of death in the United States, respectively, according to the 2026 American Heart Association 2026 Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics report. These conditions require swift, proven treatment to achieve the best outcomes. Through Get With The Guidelines, hospitals use real‑time data, clinical best practices and performance feedback to improve adherence to evidence‑based care for conditions such as stroke, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease.

"Every 40 seconds, someone in America has a stroke or heart attack," said Shelley Webber, CFRE, executive director of the American Heart Association - Northeast Ohio. "High-quality care should be accessible to all, and sites awarded through the Get With The Guidelines program help work toward our shared vision of health and hope for everyone, everywhere."

Participation in Get With The Guidelines has been associated with better patient outcomes, fewer readmissions and lower mortality, and the program has also been shown to reduce disparities in care for several populations. Since its launch more than two decades ago, millions of patient records have contributed to registries that help drive research and real‑world improvements in cardiovascular care.
