FirstEnergy Corp.

FirstEnergy Corp. on Tuesday reported second-quarter net income of $288 million.

On a per-share basis, the Akron-based company said it had net income of 50 cents.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 49 cents per share.

The utility company posted revenue of $3.68 billion in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.56 billion.

FirstEnergy expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.62 to $2.82 per share.

Procter & Gamble Co.

Procter & Gamble Co. on Wednesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $3.04 billion.

The Cincinnati-based company said it had profit of $1.26 per share. Earnings, adjusted for nonrecurring costs, came to $1.43 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.41 per share.

The world's largest consumer products maker posted revenue of $21.2 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $21.36 billion.

P&G expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.89 to $7.11 per share.

Sherwin-Williams Co.

Sherwin-Williams Co. on Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $843.6 million.

The Cleveland-based company said it had profit of $3.43 per share. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and severance costs, came to $3.70 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.56 per share.

The paint and coatings maker posted revenue of $6.79 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $6.62 billion.

Sherwin-Williams expects full-year earnings in the range of $11.80 to $12.20 per share.

F.N.B. Corporation

F.N.B. Corporation announced its board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.13 per share on its common stock. The dividend is payable on Sept. 15 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Sept. 1.
