Dearing Compressor purchases W.Va. distributor

Staff report

An industrial air compressor manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Boardman announced its recent acquisition of a West Virginia business.

In a news release, Dearing Compressor & Pump Co. said it purchased J&L Supply Company of Huntington, W.Va. The transaction expands the third-generation, family-owned business’ coverage in the southern Ohio, eastern Kentucky and West Virginia markets.

“J&L has spent more than 40 years building strong customer relationships in this market, and that’s what we’re here to continue,” said Pat Kelly, vice president of distributed products for Dearing. “The same team, the same location, the same focus on service — that doesn’t change.”

J&L Supply will continue to operate as a business unit within Dearing’s Industrial Products

Division at J&L Supply’s location in Huntington. Existing customer contacts and service operations will remain in place.

Founded in the early 1980s, J&L Supply specializes in Gardner Denver air compressor systems and service, the same product line central to Dearing’s operations. The combined organization represents more than 130 years of industry experience across a shared service territory.

The acquisition also extends Dearing’s capabilities in the region to include low-pressure blowers, vacuum pumps, high-pressure boosters and custom-engineered compressed air packaging.

The oldest Gardner Denver distributor in the United States, Dearing provides technical expertise, engineered systems solutions and field service across Ohio and surrounding states.

Last month, Dearing management bought the former Sparkle Market property on South Avenue in Boardman. Located next to Dearing Compressor’s existing campus, the purchase provides the company additional space.

In addition to its Simon Road headquarters, Dearing also has facilities in Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Starting at $3.23/week.
