Initial unemployment claims rise slightly

Ohioans filed 6,117 initial unemployment claims for the week of Oct. 26-Nov. 1, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported this week. That number was 654 more than the previous week.
Ohioans filed 40,651 continued unemployment claims last week, an increase of 259 from the previous week.
Ohio’s unemployment rate in August was 5%. The national unemployment rate in August was 4.3%. Ohio’s labor force participation rate in August was 62.5%. The national labor force participation rate in August was 62.3%.
