Sharon Regional welcomes back patients
SHARON, Pa. — Sharon Regional Medical System rebounded from months of inactivity when it returned to service Tuesday.
According to published reports, California-based Tenor Health Foundation and Pennsylvania’s Department of Health reached an agreement to reopen the site. The Pittsburgh Business Times reported Monday that Tenor Health initially will operate under Steward Health Care’s license.
Before heading into bankruptcy, Stewart Health operated the facility in addition to the former Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital.
Today, those properties are run by Insight Health System and renamed Insight Hospital and Medical Center Trumbull and Insight Rehabilitation Hospital Hillside.
Insight Hospital and Medical Center is not accepting new patient admissions, except in behavioral health cases. The change came following Steward Health’s sale of its third-party provider services, which were meant to aid Insight.
Insight said it was unable to reach a new agreement to continue services.
The hospital’s emergency room remains in operation 24 hours daily.
All outpatient services continue to be offered. They include outpatient surgery, cardiac cath procedures, imaging, lab and rehabilitation. Insight Health Center, Austintown, and Insight Health Center, Elm Road, will provide outpatient services.
Insight Rehabilitation Hospital Hillside continues to offer all inpatient and outpatient services at the main campus as well as at its Austintown and Cortland outpatient locations.
