Dealerships sell for millions

BOARDMAN — The land and buildings formerly affiliated with Flynn Automotive Group — recently acquired by western Pennsylvania-based auto dealer #1 Cochran — sold for millions, according to property transfer records.

The deal, announced a, included The Honda Store and Donnell Ford, both in Boardman; Power Chevrolet, Buick, GMC in East Liverpool; and Columbiana Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac in Columbiana.

According to records with the Mahoning County Auditor’s Office:

• The Honda Store, 448 Boardman-Canfield Road, was purchased for $3.2 million by 448 Boardman Canfield LLC from Flynn Investments LTD. The dealership is on 2.7 acres.

• Donnell Ford, 7955 Market St., was purchased for $5.1 million by 7955 Market LLC from LF Donnell Inc. The dealership is on about 2.5 acres.

According to records with the Columbiana County Auditor’s Office:

• Power Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, on 5.2 acres at 15482 state Route 170, sold for $4.3 million. It was acquired by 15482 State LLC from 2149 Cricket Lane LLC.

• Columbiana Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac in Columbiana, 21 E. Railroad St., was acquired in multiple transactions because of multiple parcels, all by 21 Railroad LLC, for $2.6 million. The four parcels comprise about 1.3 acres.

All of the transfers were recorded by the auditor’s offices Thursday, the records show.

It was Wednesday when #1 Cochran announced the acquisitions, which the company stated in a news release “significantly enhances” its presence in Boardman, where it now has five stores and six brands in the township’s automotive corridor, the release states.

The deal also included a collision center in Columbiana.

#1 Cochran entered the Youngstown market in January, acquiring the 102-year-old Sweeney Chevrolet, Buick, GMC dealerships. In June, the company purchased Boardman Nissan.

It is the largest automotive retailer in western Pennsylvania with more than 38 new-vehicle franchises that represent 19 domestic and imported brands across seven Ohio and Pennsylvania counties. It also operates 11 collision centers and a centralized wholesale parts distribution center. Through its various sales, service, parts, collision and administrative operations, the company employs more than 1,800 people.
