The Minority Business Assistance Center at the Youngstown Business Incubator has brought on multibusiness owner Monica Anderson to serve as business adviser.
Anderson, owner of M Jones LLC, is a minority business enterprise, women-owned business enterprise, veteran-friendly business enterprise and an encouraging diversity growth and equity-certified business owner in the state.
She has experience as a financial literacy educator, specializing in credit restoration and partnering with the United Way to teach financial literacy courses. Anderson also owns J & M Enterprises, a vending machine company established in Youngstown, and is a licensed Realtor with Century 21 Lakeside Realty. Anderson also recently was selected to serve on the board of the Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership.
The center recently was named a Tier 2 agency by the Ohio Department of Development, meaning it will focus on existing and growth-stage minority businesses needing certification, securing contracts and funding assistance.
The center serves small-, minority- and socially- and economically-disadvantaged businesses in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, Ashtabula, Jefferson, Belmont and Monroe counties.
