Crafts retailer Hobby Lobby opens store in Hermitage, Pa.

Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a national retailer of craft and home decor stores, has opened a new store in Hermitage, Pa.

The 60,000-square-foot store at 3380 E. State St., Hermitage, Pa., is the Oklahoma City, Okla.-based chain’s 25th location in Pennsylvania.

“Once you visit Hobby Lobby, you will see that we are very unique, offering the widest variety of merchandise in the craft and home decor market under one roof,” Kelly Black, assistant vice president of advertising, said. “We’re tremendously excited about becoming a part of the Hermitage community.”

Hobby Lobby has more than 900 stores across the U.S., including two in the Mahoning Valley — at the Great East Plaza at the Eastwood Mall in Niles and at Tiffany Square Plaza on Boardman Poland Road in Boardman.

Each store offers more than 70,000 crafting and home decor products, including floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, wearable art, arts and crafts, jewelry making, scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies.

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday.

Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a privately held corporation, began as Greco, a miniature picture frame company in 1970. When founder and CEO David Green moved his business from the family home to a 300 square-foot retail space in 1972, Hobby Lobby was born. It is the nation’s largest privately owned arts and crafts retailer.
