WARREN — Dr. Christopher Liebig has been made medical director for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

In the role, Liebig will provide clinical leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality medical services are provided. He will partner with Vice President Paul Olivier, Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley Enterprises, to develop and implement the hospital’s strategic initiatives.

Liebig joined Akron Children’s in 2014 and has served as the director of sports medicine at the hospital’s Boardman campus. He will continue to see patients and maintain his sports medicine responsibilities.

Liebig’s “ability to connect with patients and their families combined with his contributions to the organization since joining the hospital in 2014, make him an excellent choice to lead our clinical services in the Mahoning Valley,” said Dr. Robert McGregor, chief medical officer at Akron Children’s Hospital.

In addition to his duties at Akron Children’s, Liebig, who is board certified in pediatrics with a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine, serves as a clinical professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
