Valley coalition chief to host summit

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN — Jessica Borza, executive director of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition, has been selected to be master of ceremonies for the fifth annual Ohio Manufacturers’ Workforce Summit on Oct. 27 and 28.

The theme for the virtual event is “Attracting the 21st Century Manufacturing Workforce.”

The keynote speaker on day one is Amanda Cage, president / CEO of National Fund for Workforce Solutions, on strategies to combat the labor shortage. Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted will speak on the second day.

“It’s certainly a thrill to be part of the event, plus it’s great exposure on a statewide stage to represent the entire Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition staff and membership,” Borza said.

Borza has led MVMC since it formed in 2011. With nearly 100 members, the organization aligns partners across education, workforce development, economic development and community-based organizations in the Mahoning Valley.
