YOUNGSTOWN — The city is creating a new app to help boost sales at local businesses.

The YO! Program is free for local business owners and users and gives businesses a way to attract more customers and increase their revenues, according to the mayor’s office.

The YO! app rewards those who shop at city businesses through “City Bites.” Each City Bite equals $1 and can be redeemed at local businesses through the city’s rewards program.

The city is asking business owners with storefronts in Youngstown to go to youngstownohio.gov/yo to submit application forms and participate in the initiative.

The program will be rolled out in two phases with a June 30 deadline to submit the form for the first phase.
