AUSTINTOWN — A company affiliated with Dinesol Plastics Inc. in Niles and a company connected to Boardman-based Butter Maid Bakery have bought warehouse space, presumably for expansion or storage, in the industrial Victoria Road area.

DPI Warehouse Inc, 195 Park Ave., Niles — the same address for Dinesol — has acquired a more than 41,000-square-foot building at 6750 Victoria Road East for $1.9 million, according to the Mahoning County Auditor’s office.

The facility was built in 1984. The seller was Davis International Inc.

Dinesol was established in 1976 as a small plastic injection molding company in a 12,000-square-foot facility in West Farmington. It moved to Niles after it was acquired in 1989 by Steel City Corporation and built a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, according to its website. The company expanded the facility to 150,000 square feet in 1995.

It now operates two injection molding facilities — the other on North Meridian Road in Austintown — for more than 500,000-square-feet of manufacturing space. The company employs nearly 400 people.

Less than two miles south at 100 Victoria Road, DNNJ3 LLC acquired a 30,150-square-foot warehouse for $1.05 million from the Gregory Carney Trust Agreement.

The building, which appears to have been recently refreshed with paint — brown with pink accents, the same color scheme of Butter Maid’s Boardman Canfield Road store — advertises itself with a Butter Maid sign.

Built in 1974, it formerly housed Carney McNicholas, a moving and storage service company that performs standard household and commercial moves, as well as niche, library, archive and art moves, according to its website, which still lists the Victoria Road building as its headquarters.

The company, however, appears to now be based in Kinsman.

Butter Maid, a fifth-generation family-owned bakery, opened in 1955 in the Boardman Plaza and moved to the Southern Park Mall in 1984. The company created an online presence in 2006 and eight years later moved back to Boardman Plaza, according to its website.

Messages seeking comment were left with officials from both companies.
