LMC surpasses 100K Endurance preorders

LORDSTOWN — Lordstown Motors Corp. has surpassed a milestone 100,000 preorders from commercial fleets for its battery-powered Endurance pickup truck, with an average size of nearly 600 vehicles per order.

Monday’s announcement comes on the heels of news last week that Mike Albert Fleet Solutions, a Cincinnati-based national fleet management company, reserved a “significant quantity” of the truck on behalf of the company’s clients.

Also, it was announced in late December that Texas-based E Squared Energy Advisors, a tech company that specializes in the development of green energy resources, signed a letter of intent to buy 14,000 Endurances over the next three years.

“Receiving 100,000 preorders from commercial fleets for a truck like the Endurance is unprecedented in automotive history,” Steve Burns, CEO / founder of Lordstown Motors, said. “Adding in the interest we have from federal, state, municipal and military fleets on top of that, I think you can see why we feel that we are about to revolutionize the pickup truck industry.”

All of the preorders are considered nonbinding production reservations.

The company is building the first of its beta test trucks and is on track to start production later this year at the former General Motors assembly plant, which Lordstown Motors purchased and is retooling to fit the truck. The initial Endurance is a crew cab configuration with medium bed length, priced at $45,000 after federal rebate.
