Gas prices down in region
WARREN — The average price for gasoline across northeast Ohio is 9 cents lower this week at $1.96 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
In the Warren-Youngstown area, motorists can expect to pay an average of $1.89 per gallon and in Niles, $1.91 per gallon.
The average price in the region this week last year was $2.54 per gallon.
Across the United States, motorists are paying more to fill up this week than last in nearly 30 states, most by just a few pennies, according to AAA. South Carolina had the largest increase, 8 cents, followed by Michigan, New Mexico, Indiana, Delaware and Minnesota with increases of 6 cents.
