Aim acquires Va. freight carrier

LIBERTY — Aim Transportation Solutions has acquired some of the assets of Richmond, Va.-based Estes Leasing, the largest, privately-owned freight carrier in North America.

The move is part of the Liberty-based company’s ongoing expansion in the greater Virginia area, which began in 2016 with the purchase of Fleming Leasing, the company announced Wednesday.

“Through this acquisition, we continue on our path of strategic growth throughout Virginia and the Greater Metro-DC and Richmond areas,” Dan Fleming, Aim vice president of sales operations, said. “This is the kind of growth that better allows us to bring Aim’s unique brand of attention, care and flexibility to more companies than ever before.”

The purchase adds to Aim’s growing number of maintained commercial trucks, now at more than 11,000 across the U.S.

Aim is the largest privately owned truck leasing company in North America. Its headquarters is on Trumbull Avenue in Liberty.
