Platz Realty Group expands with acquisition of Kutlick

WARREN — Platz Realty Group has acquired Kutlick Realty LLC, making the new firm the largest commercial and industrial real estate firm in a five-county area.

The acquisition recently was announced by Don Thomas, PGI2 / Platz Real Estate managing partner.

Both firms are commercial, retail and industrial real estate brokerages in the Mahoning Valley.

Steve Platz and Bill Kutlick were executives of the DeBartolo Company. They went on to form Kutlick-Platz Brokerage in 1997. Steve Platz Realty was purchased in late 2015 by PGI2 Inc. The PGI2 team merged Routh Hurlbert Real Estate into the Platz family in late 2018.

Said Bill Kutlick, “We are excited and grateful for this opportunity to join a talented and capable team that will continue to provide exemplary customer service, knowledge and professionalism.”

Both firms cite a unique opportunity, increased competition from “Resimercial” brokerages and redundant, escalating marketing and sales costs as key reasons for this action.

“Commercial real estate is not generally an emotional event,” Kutlick said. “Clients have specific needs for location, space, utilities and logistics. We feel the merging of forces with the Platz Realty Group will allow us to best serve a wide range of clients.”

Said Thomas, “We will continue to expand and intensify our marketing and internet presence. Our goal is to provide our clients and agents with the best tools available to market and lease or sell properties.”

The new Platz Realty Group will have 10 full-time and five part-time agents. The firm will combine its office to a new location in Canfield, while maintaining its Trumbull County office at 8031 E. Market St. in Howland and downtown Youngstown office at 1 Central Square.
