Local gas prices below average
WARREN — The average price for a gallon of gas in the Warren / Youngstown and Niles areas is below the northeast Ohio average of $2.52, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
In Warren / Youngstown, the per gallon average is $2.50 and in Niles, $2.46.
The average the week of Jan. 7, 2019, was $1.93 per gallon.
Across the U.S., the average price held steady at $2.58 per gallon. But AAA reports that could change based on movement in crude oil prices geopolitical concerns, namely rising tension with Iran over the death of Iran’s Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
