Regional Chamber staffers recognized for their efforts

WARREN — The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber’s director of Government and Public Affairs, Nick Santucci, and manager of Business Development, Shea MacMillan, were recognized by the Ohio Economic Development Association for their work in economic development and government affairs.

Santucci won the association’s 2019 Excellence in Marketing & Communications Award for his work in organizing the chamber’s Columbus Drive-In and Washington, D.C., Fly-In, both attended by local business, government and civic leaders.

In overseeing both events, his work advanced the region’s priorities through a unified voice. His work this year and last has resulted in $2.6 million from the state for priorities in the area.

MacMillan was selected as a finalist for the association’s 2019 Economic Development Rookie of the Year award.

MacMillan has managed more than $4.6 million in capital investment projects that created 71 new jobs and retained 491 existing jobs throughout Trumbull and Mahoning counties. He also participated in the creation of the Mahoning Valley Rail Commission, which will assist with rail development and a proactive regional rail strategy. In addition, he recently launched an economic impact analysis service for the chamber.
